Land Surveying Technician Certificate


Program Code: E.SRV.CER

Graduation requirement: 12-13 credit hours

The Land Surveying Technician certificate is designed for students currently employed in the surveying industry and accepted for entry into the apprenticeship program sponsored by the Illinois Professional Land Surveyor’s Association and Parkland College.

Course work includes basic surveying instrument operation, fundamental land surveying computations, common surveying processes, and interpretation of engineering and surveying drawings.

This is a 4-semester part time program.

Program Notes


  • The 4 credit hour version of SRV 113  is designated for students who do not place out of MAT 072  or have credit in MAT 131 .
    • Students who place into, but not out of, MAT 072 are eligible to take the 4 credit hour version of SRV 113. Students who take the 4 credit hour version and do not pass the math specific assessment will need to have credit in MAT 131 prior to enrolling in SRV 211 .
    • Students who place out of MAT 072 or have credit in MAT 131 should take the 3 credit hour version of SRV 113.
